Hello Family! How are y'all doing? I hope that you had a great week and that you are not melting in the summer heat... Especially Makall. It is not only hot down there but insanely humid.. Yuck :P Things here have been hot but not to bad, not nearly as hot as last summer in El Paso. But I have already gotten my first sun burn of the summer! It is not even bad but because I am so white everyone thinks that I am dying. But I am not so dont worry ;) Well this has been a pretty calm week we have seen a few people and have seen miracles like we always do. Here are just a few :)
Story 1 The Tale of the Man Who Waited As we were going through former investigators we found a man named Gerard. It said that he had given up on God long ago but that he was willing to meet with missionaries. We have been trying to see him for a while with no luck. Till this past week and we actually caught him at home. He says that God has not made any contact with him in 60 years and that he is just waiting for God to say or do something. That made me think of D&C 9 "Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me.But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right." God is not going to just give us the easy way out. He wants to see how much we truly want an answer. I told this to Gerard and we gave him a Book Of Mormon. We will be meeting with him this week and I know that if he truly wants to know. That God will give him the answer that he has been waiting for for 60 years.
Story 2 The Tale of The Coca family So Aurora and her family are doing so very good! We taught them this past Thursday and the kids came to mutual again! The are beginning to see how the gospel can truly bless there family. We are meeting with them this next Thursday so we hope to help them come to church this Sunday! Also Aurora is going to go to the scout pack meeting this Wednesday!! That is such a big step, because she does not like to leave her house! But I am so grateful that go let us find them! Well that really was the most exciting parts of my week. We have been tracting a lot. Because Sister Walker likes it.... I am not that big of a fan of it. But I know that we need to find people and it is really the only thing that we can do. Oh well! I love y'all so much and I hope that you have a great week! And I cant wait to hear from y'all soon!! Love ya Sister Chatwin
