The Windy Weeds

Well Hello there family!

How are y'all doing? I hope that you have had a great week and that you are enjoying the nice spring weather. So again all who can should put video's in the drop box..I love to get them!!! And mom put any pictures that you get from Makall on there also! So this has yet again been a slower week. The wind has been so bad for the past few days so no one is out side or willing to really talk. Wind is not something that I will miss

when I go home. It ruins your hair,

and you constantly have lungs full

of sand. So I will be glad when the

windy season is over....In about

June. But inspite of all the wind

we did have a few cool moments

this week.

So lets get on to the Stories of the week!

Story 1 The Tale of the Dare Devil

Every P-day the zone gets together and we hang out. We usually go to
the stake center, but they were cleaning the carpets. So this past week we went to the park. It was very fun and there were not many people there. Well the later the day got the more people started to come. And this one teenage boy comes and starts doing Par core all
over the playground. He was doing lips and jumping over tables and things. But then I think he realized that we were all watching him. Sohe climbs up on an awning that is about 30

feet high or so, and jumpsoff. He landed on the tiny little platform and then jumped off ofthat. But then he climbes up the covering of the playground that isabout 40-50 feet high and then just sits there. The Elders were alltaking bets as to if he would jump, if we would have to call 911, orif he would some how make it. All the sisters were hoping that hewould not jump because that was a very stupid thing to do....  Well teenage boys are stupid and he jumped. Some how his feet found theground, and he tucks, rolls a few times, then jumps up and startsflipping again. He was so stupid, but it was pretty cool. Although I will never be doing that in my life time.   Story 2 The Tale of the Windy Weeds and a Baptism
Everybody loves the missionaries.
Not because we are awesome or the at
they believe our message. But its
because we are free labor, and we
will do just about anything they ask. Well one of our not so solid
investigators, is working on cleaning her house. I think I told you about her, she is the hoarder that took us to get the meatless salad a
few weeks ago. We she again asked if we would help her clean but this time it was to pull weeds in the back yard. So this past Saturday we went to her house and went to her back yard. It looked like a little mini jungle. I am not sure what kind of animals lived in it but I am sure that they were not the cute fluffy ones. So we start pulling weeds and she told me all about how she used to live in Georgia on a farm. She really just stood around and pulled up the small stuff while we got the huge ones. And as you all know I have Hay Fever and weeds make me sneeze. Especially if there is lots of wind. And there was lots and lots of wind, so I am just sneezing my little head off. Yes I have been taking my medicine but with the winds as bad as they are there is no cure for allergies. After 2 hours of weeding and sneezing we were finally half done. But we had a baptism to go to so we could not stay longer. Sister Rirre being the amazing missionary that she is
invited the investigator to the baptism. She was not really sure at first and said that she would rather go out to lunch, but Sister Rirre convinced her that it would not be very spiritual and not to long. She
said that she would go if we could go out to lunch after, so we agreed. So we all went to the baptism and it was such an amazing spirit there. The man getting baptized has been investigating for a while and has finally made the choice to get baptized. So after the
baptism we went to that buffet were there is no meat, and asked her how she felt. She said that she liked it but that her baptism was just a much more spiritual experience. We asked her how so, and she proceed
to tell us how after she was baptized she started speaking in tongues. Yeah apparently people in other churches think that if you feel the'spirit' and speak gibberish then you have the gift of tongues. So we are going to try and have a lesson on what the Holy Ghost really is.
Story 3 The tale of the Exchange I got to go on my first exchange in 6 months as just a normal missionary. It was very odd to not be in charge and to not have trainings and things to do. But it was still just as fun to go to another area and see the diffrent people. And Also my STL is Sister Muccrdy, and I was her STL in canyon heights, so we get along really well. But we were able to have an awesome door step lesson with there investigator named Jayson. We talked to him all about Prophets and how we get a new one. He thought that we just got a new one every few hundred years, and that they were picked from kids. Silly right, but we had a great time and also got really good frozen yogurt! Story 4 The Tale of Miss Donna So I believe that I have already told you about an investigator that we have named Donna. Her husband is a member and she is now investigating the church after a long time. Well we have been teaching her about the Book of Mormon, we show her pictures, tell her the stories and read it with her. Well this past Friday we had dinner and a lesson with her. She was still struggling with the Book of Mormon and how it relates to the Bible. So we drew her a diagram about the Nephites and the Lamenites, how Christ came, and how the Nephites were killed. Then she looked all confused and asked where Joseph Smith comes in. We told her that he was not in the Book of Mormon, but he was the one who translated it. She procceded to tell us that she had thought that the Book of Mormon was about Joseph Smith and how he was a treasure hunter, and the comandmenst for the church. Apparently this is what a lot of people think this is what the Book Of Mormon is about. It is kinda funny but sad all at the same time. I guess that is why missionaries are so important, to tell everyone what it really is about. And Donna is now going to read the Bok of Mormon and pray about it!!!! It is so very exciting! Well family that was my week! Also I get to go to the
temple next week so I may not have a chance to email. So mom you dont need to call the mission office if I dont Email ;). I hope that you all have a great week and I cant wait to see you on mothers day!

The Tale of Easter baskets

Hey Family!! How are y'all doing? How is it now that 2 of us are gone
on missions? Crazy right! I loved Makalls letter! and she is one step
above me because I cried that first night ;) But she was always going
to be 10 times the missionary that I am so that is no surprise. How
was every body's

Easter? What did the Easter
Bunny give you? I hope
that you
like all you candy ! Well this
is yet another week of not
much.
We are still trying to find
people to teach, and we walk a
lot.
I have come to the conclusion that this is more of a hunting Mission,
while others are more like fishing. Fishing missionaries will be able
have lots of people find them. While hunting missionaries have to dig
through the brush, hike millions of miles, and crawl through the dirt
to find maybe one person. But such is life and I love my mission and
would not trade it for the world :) Because I have found some amazing
people, and they are so much more worth it when you find them. Well
there were a few things that happened this week so lets get on to the
stories of the week.

Story 1 The Tale of the 12 things of Easter....In the Rain

So in case you did not know this past Sunday was Easter! And there is
an awesome family in our ward who is so missionary minded. They have
this tradition that they do every Easter. I remember         doing it in
Primary, it the 12 symbols of Easter. The had the red cloth for the
rob, rock for the tomb, and so forth. Also there are scriptures from
the Bible and Book of Mormon that go along with each egg. I think it
is very cute and will probably do it with my kids. But they wanted to
share this with there friends who were non members. So they put
together about 6 with the eggs, a bible and book of Mormon with the
scriptures marked, and a cute little note in each basket. They asked
if we would like to help them deliver them, so that if the people had
any questions we could answer them. So we all got in our cars and it
started to sprinkle. When we got to the first house it was like
someone in heaven left the bath tub running and it had over flowed! It
was pouring so hard! It did not even matter if we had umbrellas or not
because the rain was falling so hard that it would jump off the ground
and hit us! So needless to say we got soaked. But I thought that it
was such a good idea to invite people to learn about what we believe,
in a very cute way. We should do it next year when I am home!!

Story 2 The Tale of the Horned Melon

So last Tuesday after I had already Emailed y'all we went to Zone
sports. Its were every one in the zone gets together on p-day and hang
out. So we went and there was a sister there who just got told that
she was being ET'ed ( Emergency Transferred) because a sister was sick
and going home. So that was a really big bummer, mainly because she
and sister Rirre were best friends. So sister Rirre was really nit
happy, and wanted to do something special for
sister going home). They have lots of inside
jokes and one of them sister Wilcox (the
involved a fruit called a horned

Melon. Look it up and it is a
very odd looking fruit. So we
went to the story to get
one and stopped by their
house. And they  wanted to
see what it tasted like, so they cut
it open. It looked like snot with seeds in it :P And they obviously
had to try it so they did.. They almost through up it it was so
nasty!!!

Story 3 The Tale of Easter baskets and Rebecca:

So I have told you about our amazing investigator named Rebecca. She
is so awesome and loves the book of Mormon. Well last week she asked
if she could take us out for lunch! We went to this really good pizza
places called Dions. And when we got there she was sitting in the both
with 2 Easter baskets! She said that she wanted us to have a happy
Easter and was not sure if we could have them or not. She was so
sweet! And she was so excited when we said that we actually could have
them! After lunch we sat and chatted for a while. She told us that she
wants to be baptized!!! She is almost done with Mosiah and just loves
everything that she learns. Her husband is not really that excited but
we are praying that he will soften his heart and let her. But it is
just so nice to teach people who want to be taught, and not just use
us.

Well that is about the extent of the week. Yeah again we are still
just trying top find people. And the people here are nicer than they
were in Santa Fe but not as nice as El Paso. Where they will just sit
and talk with you for a good 20 or so minutes even if they have no
interest in the church. Well who knows maybe I will go back down there
before I die. Die as a missionary not a person that is.

Well I love
y'all so much and hope that you are having a great week!!! Love ya!!

Easter Program

Hi everybody!! How have y'all been doing? Are you having fun getting
ready for Easter? I hop so, ha get it hop ;) Well this week has been
good nothing to crazy happened this week. But we have seen lots of
miracles, and seen lots of fun people. Um so yeah I guess that we will
get on with the stories of the week!

Story 1 The Tale of our Easter Program

This past Sunday the stake put on a big Easter Musical night. The had
lots of choirs, instruments, and a few videos. Her are some of the
high lights! First, there is a member of the stake who sings opera.
And he sang a very beautiful rendition of "Oh Divine Redeemer". With a
harp and piano acomponing him.. Second, right after the finished oh
divine redeemer the pianist was putting the lid back down on the
piano. And I just thought to my self "I really hope that doesn't
fall". Well not 5 seconds after I had thought that it slipped out of
her hand and fell the last 6 or so inches.. On to her other hand! She
wasn't hurt or anything but the noise did make your heart stop for a
minute. And lastly the primary kids sang "I stand all amazed". It was
very cute and there was that one kid who was standing really close to
the mic and she did not know the words. It was so cute and funny all
at the same time. But I think I liked Brynlee and Avery singing it
better!! And you should put that video back in the dropbox and leave
it there. And the one of Blake and Haily singing I am a child of God.
I love to listen to the kids sing!

Story 2 The Tale of the Amazing Lesson

I cant remember if I told you about Rebecca. But she is on of our most
solid investigators. She is just amazing! She was already in Mosiah
when we last saw her. And when we asked her what her favorite part was
that she had read, she said it was the parable of the Olive tree in
Jacob.... SHe even read it a few times just to make sure that she
understood it. It is crazy how the Lord prepares people to find the
Gospel. She also said that the Lord spoke to her while she was and
told her that he would not give up on her. And she knows that she is
supposed to be baptized! She is so amazing!!!

Story 3 The Tale of the Seniors and there Popsicles

Every Thursday we visit a member named Virgina in an assisted living
center. She is so cute and always tells us about when she was
missionary. This past week we filled Easter eggs with candy and had
Popsicles. Virginia is so funny and always asks who we are and is so
excited when we tell her that we are missionaries. The other ladies in
the video are Pet.... something Hispanic that I can remember. She is
super excited when we come over because she loves to see the Nuns. And
no matter how many times we tell her we were not nuns she still calls
us that and wonders why we don't know about the saints. The other lady
is Mella, she is very sweet and thinks that we are her daughters. Ha I
love old people.

Story 4 The Tale of Frozen

Ok so every time that we go to dinner someone always brings up Frozen.
Everyone loves it and always sings the songs. So this is what I have
been able to find out about the movie Frozen... "Let It Go , Let it
Go" "I have been impaled", and they are sisters. Also the snowmans
name is Olaf.. And that makes me think of the bad guy from the series
of unfortunate events. But that is what I know of the movie Frozen.

Well that was my week! It has been really fun to get to know the
people in the ward and to met new people. Makall goes to the MTC
tomorrow!! That is just so crazy and exciting! I am so proud of her
and the choice she made to go on a mission. I know that she will be a
great missionary! I live y'all so much !!! Cant wait to hear from you
soon!

The Tale of the Prophet

Hello everybody!! I hope that y'all are doing great and that you loved conference as much as I did!! And thanks for all the videos!! The kids are all just getting top big, so tell them to stop.  Well we are done with another week here in New Mexico and it has been pretty good. Well conference always makes things better so that is one thing that was good. Although it means that I still have not met half the ward yet, and wont till next Sunday. But we have been going around trying to see as many people as we can. And this is the smallest area that I have served in thus far. It is only about 5 miles total I think. But I can see the temple from my balcony! Its this large brown spot surrounded by smaller brown spots. Oh and I have my own bathroom!! This is the nicest apartment that I have lived in while on my mission. Well on another note things actually happened this week!!! So I have more stories of the week!!! SO prepare to be amazed!!!
Story 1 The Tale of Coffee filter Butterflies

A member in the ward owns an assisted living
center here called the "Beehive House". I
wonder where they got the name from? Well
on Thursday we went in to help them make
crafts. And there was this very sweet old lady
there who's name was Virginia. She is one of
the cutest old ladies I have ever met. She told us all about her mission to Texas, and every 5 minutes or so would ask what our names were. So Sister Ririe and I go and sit with her and a few other ladies and start to do the craft. We made butter flies out of coffee filters, and it was very funny to watch Virginia try and steal Sister Riries markers, and her butterfly. I would ask her if she had the markers and she would say no. Then she would wink at me, and ask what my name was again. It was super fun to help out seniors again! I forgot how much I love them, and how funny they are. But on the other hand it is so nice when one of them says " I have to go to the bathroom". And I can remind them to push there button and someone ( not me ) will come and help.  Yep it was very fun!

Story 2 The Tale of What the Salad was Missing
On Wednesday we helped one of our investigators clean out her garage. We were there for 2 hours and got 1/100 part of it clean. She is a hoarder and would go through all the things we were throwing away. So after 2 hours of "cleaning" she invited us to go out to lunch with her. She wanted to go to this buffet called the Sweet Tomato. First off I have never eaten at so many buffets in my life till I came on a mission. I think people just don't like to cook some times but still want us to get what we want. So I have been to Golden Corral so many times, it is not even funny. Any way so she takes us out to this restaurant and it is a salad and soup buffet. Kind of like Zuppas, so we go through and get our food and have a good time. They had really good corn bread, and strawberry lemonade. So we leave and get in the car. And Sister Ririe says, " Well that was good but you know what that salad was missing... Meat." And thats when I realized that there had not been any meat at all in the entire restaurant. Only in New Mexico will you find a place that has no meat, but an endless amount of green food. Oh and did I tell you that in Santa Fe they got rid of all the plastic bags? And you either had to use your own bags, or it was 10cents a bag for a paper bag. Yeah I will be glad to go home and be around normal ish people.

Story 3 The Tale of the Prophet
So conference as a missionary is basically like a holiday. We get to see other missionaries, watch TV, and listen to great music. It really is a great time of the year!! Some of the talks that I really liked were Elder Hollands, Elder Nelson, and Elder Aidukaitis ( no I do not know how to say his name). I also heard that Elders Oaks talk in the Priesthood session was really good so I will have to listen to that. But what were your favorite talks? Can you believe that I will be home for the next session?!?! We will have to have a big breakfast or something, because I have missed watching conference with y'all.
Well that was my week! I hope that y'all have a great week and that y'all remember that I love you so much !! Hope to hear from you soon!! Love ya!!!
