Hello family!! How are you all doing!! I cant wait to talk to you all in 2 weeks! Well this week we had our first baptism!! Her name is Zoe and she is 9, she is super cute and was so excited! Her mom is also getting baptised in 2 weeks, and we have 8 people on date to be baptised this month. So we are pretty excited and really busy! But last week Makall (who has still not emailed/ wrote me back!!) said that I was being to vague in my emails and she wanted to hear a story or two. So this week I will give you 2 stories!! And just so you know they do not include men hitting on me (sorry Kate ;).
OK first up I will tell you about happened a this past week. Sis Rose and I were teaching a older man Bobo who's wife is a member, and he has had the discussions for almost 10 years. From earlier lessons we realized that he know that our message was true but that there was something holding him back.He kept saying someday when I am baptized or when I am a member, so he clearly has a testimony. So we played a Mormon message for him called choose this day by Henry B Eyring ( If you get the chance you should go to Mormon.org and watch it). It basically says that we need to choose this day to serve the lord and not wait till someday to act. After we watched the video we talked about what each of us can do to choose the lord this day. His wife said that she really wanted to be sealed in the temple, so we asked Bobo what date that he had picked to go with his wife. He was kind of confused for a moment but then said that he hadn't, and that it didn't really matter because once he was gone his wife would just do it for him. And then it clicked he did not want to be baptized now because he knew that it could be done later. So finally knowing what the real problem was I (well the spirit did) told him how important it would be for him and to his wife that it be him that she is sealed to. Not someone who will stand in his place but to have him really there. And he almost started crying, as sister Rose went in to more detail about the plan of salvation and how families can be together forever. He did not commit to anything but we know that he is one step closer to going to the temple with his wife.
And the second story happened a few weeks ago but its really good/funny/embarrassing so I will Share it because all my previous emails have been dull. So we were out contacting less active members, and we stopped by this mans house. He wasn't home, and It was only after we stopped by that we were informed that he had been dead for several years. But any way I really really really needed to pee ( yes I said pee), but sister Rose thought that we should go and ring the neighbors door. So I begrudgingly went with her, up to the door. She knocked on the door and this woman comes out and starts talking to us, and all the while I was dieing!! We stood there talking for what seemed like forever but was really only 2 or 3 minutes. So at one point I could not hold it any longer so I just blurted out "Can I use your restroom?" Sister Rose and the lady just looked at me, but she let us in. So after everything got taken care of we started talking to her, and it turns out she is one of the most prepared people that we have ever met! Her family is going through hard times and Bonney (who is the lady) was really just looking for some peace. So we set up a return appointment, and we met her daughters. One (Tara) said that she used to be atheist but that it was just to sad, boring and depressing. So she stopped. the other (Reine) seemed interested and wanted us to come back. We gave them a book of Mormon and told them that we would come back. But here is the best part, we stopped by a few days ago and talked to Tara, and she had already read half the Book of Mormon in 2 weeks!!! She said that she likes the way that it makes her feel and that she really wants to know more!!
So there you have my stories of the week, and once you all stop laughing about my awesome/embarrassing story, you should all write me back!!! And as for the mothers day call we are trying to find somewhere to Skye and I will see if I can call the Hardys daughter.
I love you all so much and cant wait to hear from you.
Love Sister Chatwin
P.S .... Yeah I got nothing this week sorry ;)
