Jenna is In El Paso Texas

Oh my gosh what a week its been!! First off I got a call from Sister Miller today saying that Mom called because you haven't heard from me. Well that is because we spent our P-day last week on an airplane and then they wouldn't let us email. But they were supposed to send a picture and a letter saying that I got here so it must have gotten lost in the mail. Anyway I am alive and I am serving..... "Down in the West Texas Town of El Paso!!" I know right my first area and I am not even in New Mexico, but I really wanted to write ^ that ^ to you so it all works out.
My companion is sister Rose, she is from Salt Lake, she is 25 and she is a hippy. She loves all of the homeopathic things, and hates western medicine, the government and men. So there are a few things that I make sure no to bring up. But she is really nice and a good trainer. She has been sick this week so we haven't really done much. But we have taught a few lessons and contacted loads of people on the street. The best was one night we were trying to find people to talk to and we found these three black guys... who were drunk and smoking. But we did have a really good conversation and gave out some pamphlets and cards. And then we had to leave be cause one of them came over to me and said, " At the end of the day we are all human... Do you date black men?" It was supper funny and not dangerous.. Just saying. Me and sister rose still laugh about it :)
But any way how are things at home? How is every one? I want to know about everything !! OK I don't have much time left but yesterday we were running late to an appointment and met a man who we were defiantly supposed to meet. He was just so prepared to hear our message and so we are going back to teach him and his whole family on Saturday. It is just amazing to bring people to the gospel and show them the wonders that they are missing. The ward here is very friendly and love that they have sister missionaries. It is made up of Military wives, all the husbands have been deployed so they are excited that we can come and meet them.
I love you all so much and Miss you more than you can imagine. But I am supposed to be here and that's all that matters. Oh and one more thing can you send down my TOM TOM? The streets here are so crazy that the GPS is amazing to have. Also please respond with dear elder, I don't get much time to read a lot of      e-mails so letters are much better, then I will have time to let you all know what is happening. I will give the address at the end of this email and please date them!!!. And I need the email addresses of Makall and Rachael. But I love you all and again I am alive. Thanks for the pictures, emails, letters, and Packages. Hope to hear from you all soon.

March 13th

Dear Mom and Dad,

Hey I just wanted to tell you that I am ok. Not that everything has been perfect; the first few days were really rough. Yes I did cry the first and second and the third night. But I found your note in my wallet to day and that made me feel so much better. Last night was really hard because we taught our 1st pretend real discussions and it di not go so well. She was an atheist Asian who did not want sister Johnson and I there. We felt the spirit so strong and we were devastated. I felt really discouraged ad just wanted to come home however I knew that I was supposed to be here so that was not an option. Then today we went to the temple and sitting in the chapel I was just praying to feel better. I opened the Book of Mormon to Moses 6:32-34, it talks about how the Lord will use Enoch as his mouthpiece and how the Lord will be with him always.

Another thing that made me realize I was supposed to be here was when another missionary sister Brown was feeling sick. Because I have the medical knowledge I do I asked her how she felt, she didn’t have a fever her stomach and head hurt and she just felt sick. I knew that she was not sick but stressed. So I took her out in the hall during gym and tried to help her calm down. We started doing deep breathing and after a while she just started to cry and opened up to me about how sad and depressed she felt. I was able to help her deal with how sad she was and to tell her that I knew how she felt and that she could come and talk with me anytime. I know I was supposed to be here to help her through that experience. After our talk she felt so much better. We are so close now and I am so happy to know her.

Mom that card you put in my wallet and Dad’s card have both helped me so much. The both came at just at the time I needed them most. I am so grateful or 2 loving parents whom I love dearly11 please remember that I love you both; I know that this gospel is true. I want others to have the opportunity to be with their families forever. That is all I want to do and that is why I left you. I will be home soon and love you both so much.

With love, Sister Chatwin

PS HOW IS COCO!!  I know you are taking good care of her for which I am eternally grateful.

Hi I am so glad that I can finally write you!! I hope you got the letter that I sent on Thursday, and sorry that I haven’t emailed you they only let us do it on our P-days and so we had till today to write. So life here is crazy and I miss you all!! I hope that you are all doing we well, and I am doing great. It was kind of hard and stressful the first few days but I feel so much better now. And after going to the temple today I feel simple amazing!! Ok so to answer all your questions. My companions name is sister Johnson, she is 19 and from west Jordan, and I love her to death!!! It already feels that we are the best of friends and I am so grateful to have been blessed with a great companion! The other sister in or district are sister Brown, Sister Stokes, Sister Lockheart (like Gildiroy Lockheart from Harry Potter!!!) and sister Tompkins. They are from all over the country from Georgia, Oregon, Washington and Virginia. And the boys in our district are all great!! There’s Elder Frasior, Elder Holt, Elder Houter, Elder Nelson, Elder Quinline, and Elder MC Combs. We all get along really well, and I am the oldest girl and Elder Frasier is the oldest boy at 22. But I have sent you all letters about my days but I guess that I can tell you a little. We get up at 6:30 every morning, which is way to early! Then to breakfast and after that we study till noon (which is lunch). After lunch we study till 5(which is dinner) then after dinner we study some more. Yes we study for about 6-7 hours a day!! Which is super hard for me because you know how easy I am Distracted. And it also doesn’t help that Sister Johnson gets just as distracted as I do ! But any way that really is my life till next Monday that is.

I am so glad to get all of your Dear Elder letters, and card!! I hope Makall doesn’t get sick from Bryce!! And sorry about the scholarship Call but remember that things happen for a reason! And I am glad the show is doing well, and super glad that Bryn and Ave love it!! I know that Makall is doing wonderful and I wan to see some pictures!!! I miss you all very much and hope that you get this sometime today!! Oh I almost forgot! On Monday before we fly to New Mexico I can CALL HOME!!!! So be ready to get a call from me on Monday morning between 6-9! So Mom you better have you phone on and not on silence or vibrate!!! I love you all so much and will write again soon!! Send this email to EVREYONE and I need all of your other email addresses so I can email you! But you should respond in written letters or on DEARELDER.COM because I only have 30 minutes to read and respond to all the emails. News from Sister Chatwin

Hi!! I love you so much and I miss you like crazy! The MTC is crazy and awesome at the same time; our schedule is planned down to the minute. We get up at 6:30 every morning, which is hard because we all know I am defiantly not a morning person. The rest of the day is spent either sitting and studying or sitting and learning or sitting and eating. As you can see we sit a lot!

My companion Sister Johnson is from West Jordan Utah and has lived in Utah her whole life. She is super fun and I love her to death. She does like to talk a lot, she is 19 and a little immature bit I love her nonetheless.

I want to tell you all that I love and miss you all so much. On Monday morning before I leave for New Mexico I can call you. So be ready between 6-9 a.m. to answer your phone. Mom this means you especially, I need to talk to all of you. I will e-mail later today.

Love you all

The MTC and a my first companion

March 7th

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAKALL

Dear Family

First off I am alive!! And I love it here! I know that this is where I am supposed to be. Of course I miss you all so much but I just have to keep telling myself that I will see you all again in 18 months.

Our first day at the MTC was crazy busy! Once we got here we met the people in our district, then we met our companions. My companion is Sister Johnson and I love her! She is just a little ball of energy and is just so darn cute. As it just so happens she and the other 4 sisters and 2 Elders are going to New Mexico also! We will all leave on the 18th and be together.

The rest of the day was spent in meetings and classes.  All of them were very good and full of the spirit. Dinner is insane because the portion sizes of the food are huge; the best part of all is THEY HAVE SPRITE!! I am so excite that I can still drink sprite, also the chocolate milk here is very good, Brynlee and Avery would be in heaven.

The other missionaries in our district are awesome. It is funny how we are already fast friends. 8 of the 12 of us are going to New Mexico; the other 4 are going to Jacksonville Florida!! What a coincidence. But my favorite person is Sister Johnson; she is just so full of the spirit and already like a sister to me.

The first night was hard mainly because I couldn’t listen to my music (which my be the hardest part of the mission aside from seeing or talking to all of you).  I am happy here and learning so much, my testimony has grown so much I know I am doing the right thing.

I love you all!

Jenna Enters the MTC March 6th 2013

Jenna is ready to go. A little nervous and a little excited!

Sisters make the best friends.

Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you. Until we meet again.

We drove up to the curb, the Elders took her bags out of the car.  There was only time for a short hug and goodbye.

Sometimes you just have to hold your head up high, blink away the tears, and say goodbye.

A hug from Dad.
We watched her walk away, it was such a different experience. We are not so sure how we feel about it. We wish her the best of luck and know that she will do great.

Goodbye is never painful unless you never going to say hello again!
